And it turns out I have a lot to say about it.

Hi, I’m Liz, and I was raised in an offshoot of a fundamentalist cult called The Way International. I finally left ten years ago, but it’s only in the last couple years I’ve gotten a deeper understanding of the ways growing up in a cult still affects me to this day.

At Finding My Way, I write about my experience, including building my own beliefs, values, and mental health after leaving. Whether you’re curious about what a cult is, have left a cult yourself, or are in the middle of deconstructing your own beliefs, welcome.
