While I’m not sure it qualifies as a cult, but I was taken to a Freewill Baptist church (the Bible Center) until I was old enough to say no and my father slipped back into alcoholism. I can just describe it as weird, uncomfortable, and mandatory. My only regret is that my dad spiraled into alcoholic madness over the next 30 yrs or so. I thought the whole thing was absurd as a child and still do. As for your ordeal, I can relate on recognizing early that you didn’t agree or belong in the situation.
